Pastor Al had been on staff at Word of Faith Worship Center (now the Family Church) in Lafayette for almost 17 years.  His ministry there included Minister of Music, Youth Pastor, Home Group Pastor, Singles Pastor, and Outreach Pastor.  Pastor Al was also greatly involved in the television ministry of Word of Faith.  His wife, Dee, taught school at Lafayette Christian Academy, a ministry of Word of Faith.  She also co-pastored the Singles Ministry, and was involved in the Music Ministry. 

In January of 2000 preparation began for a move to North Carolina and the planting of a new church.  Many trips were made from Lafayette to North Carolina.  It became clear that Cary, NC was to be the new home for the Marks family and a new church, Christ Cathedral of Praise.

Christ Cathedral of Praise began meeting in Pastor Marks' home in October 2000.  January 2001 saw Christ Cathedral meeting in the Community Room at South Hills Mall.  In August 2002 a beautiful facility became available, which has  now become our new church  home.
